This project was primarily an exercise in level design for a first-person-shooter, created in Unreal Engine 4. To develop my ability to design a well-paced level with player guidance and incremental tension, I first designed a simple set of FPS mechanics (in which the player has to shoot ghosts), and then focused on designing an appropriate level around these mechanics.

Drawing on theory from Kremers' Level Design: Concept, Theory, and Practice and Totten's An Architectural Approach to Level Design, I took special care to develop the level's layout, ensuring that players would receive clear guidance on where they were expected to move, and fluctuating between areas of low and high tension to achieve an engaging experience curve.
